Celebrate Diwali with Tāmaki Makaurau!
While held in central Auckland, the BNZ Auckland Diwali Festival is one of our region’s most vibrant cultural gatherings, uniting communities across the entire city. Thousands gather in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau each year to mark the Festival of Lights—a celebration of light over darkness, good over evil, and fresh beginnings.
The family-friendly festival features live music and dance performances, dozens of traditional Indian street food stalls, intricate craft and henna displays, and evening light setups. As the largest vegetarian event in New Zealand, it offers an incredible lineup of authentic dishes to try. Visitors can also enjoy interactive creative workshops, stunning projection shows on the Auckland Town Hall, and a grand fireworks display to close out the festivities.
