Join Ali at St Heliers Library for a fun, hands-on Love Food Hate Waste workshop where kids discover how easy it is to grow their own food.
In this interactive session, kids will plant their own microgreens using recycled materials and take home a simple growing kit they can look after themselves. Because microgreens grow quickly, children can harvest and eat what they’ve grown, making this a rewarding and confidence-boosting activity that extends well beyond the workshop.
The workshop is suitable for children aged 6–12 years. Each child must attend with an adult.
This workshop is part of EcoFest 2026, a month-long celebration of Tāmaki Makaurau’s unique environment and the ways we care for it.
This Love Food Hate Waste workshop is proudly supported by Auckland Council and delivered by Compost Collective.
